Oni-con was fun! I was able to get a table right outside of the dealers room, so if anybody wanted their face painted, they definitely knew I was there. :) Friday very few did, but Saturday quite a few did and I was kept nicely busy. Sesshoumaru’s markings are definitely my most popular design. :) I also got to do 2 full Ichigo’s hollow mask faces, a few Gaara faces, a few Fruits Basket animals, 2 river of tears (always fun), and a few permanent anime blushes. Showers of butterflies is my most popular original design. I sold absolutely no prints. hmh.
I was able to share my table with Marla, which was fun, and she was able to sell a few copies of her wacky Naruto doujinshi.
I wasn’t able to get anything workable done for Orihime’s hair clips (and you HAVE to have the hairclips), so instead, at the last minute I changed to cosplaying a light-haired Hinamori (girl on right). I whipped up a bun cover, and pinned some fabric on my arm and taped on a paper badge. It worked pretty well. :] I bought a black wooden sword (bokuto!) from the dealers room that my little brother keeps stealing from me, and I love my black hakama. XD
There were lots of Bleach cosplayers at the con, XD but because I was behind a table and am generally dignified (ehhehheh), I refrained from glomping/attacking/sobbing on any Aizens I saw. Despite being sorely tempted. I called a Hitsugaya ‘Shiro-chan’, but he didn’t seem to get it. tsk tsk.
I got a few pics of my costume that I’ll post later if any of them are decent. :]
Despite all the stress and the money, the late-night prepwork, and the hours of boredom when no one wants a pretty facepaint, I really love doing cons. XD The people watching, all the fabulous to awful to wonderful costumes, the fangirl squeals and teenagers, and the painting, it’s all just fun. ^__^
