O. M. G.

I finally downloaded myself the Wicked Musical soundtrack, which I’ve heard many good things of but hadn’t listened to before. I put it on this morning for my drive to work.

SO AWESOME. O.O

Looked up a synopsis immediately after coming home so I could figure out what in the world was going on. SO COOL!!

Elphaba is the woman. She must be cosplayed. Color me green.
I’d also love to play her in some little theater somewhere, but by the time this thing becomes available for small theaters, I’ll probably be too old. Oh well.
SO FABULOUS.

My car has hereby been dubbed Seiryuu-The Green Dragon. Named after the God of the East and Spring from the Chinese mythology of the 4 Guardians of the the Sky and Seasons. Seiryuu is associated with the wood element and the waters of spring. Some googled info. (Often also called the Blue Dragon, or the Blue-Green Dragon, but for this car, he’s definitely the Green Dragon). Seiryuu is also a type of japanese maple. (No, I haven’t watched Fushigi Yuugi.)

I wanted to call my car The Green Dragon, and so went looking for a Japanese term for it and got quite lucky. :] I was also born on the Vernal Equinox, so it fits rather well.

I could always call him Midori-chan, but that’s not nearly as dignified. ;D

I’m alive! Sorry to you wonderful people I haven’t gotten back to yet. -_-;;

I’ve gradually come to the realization, through extensive frustrating experience, that when I have had only 5-6 hours of sleep, I can function, I can get what I need to done, I can read, and I can watch moving pictures with sound (tv, movies, anime, avi’s, wmp’s…), but I can’t output ANYTHIng remotely creative. That means I can’t adequately draw, paint, or write, including answering comments and emails if the reply requires more thought on my part than a jolly “Thanks!” So if I don’t answer back very quickly, it’s because I likely got up at 4am, but didn’t exactly get to bed at 9pm, yuh see whawt I mean?

My car’s doing well, and my job’s doing fine! I’m trained up, and they FINALLY got me into my trailer today so I can stop taking up space in the tiny guardhouse (they hired me so the guards could guard instead of constantly inputting contractor badge info). But winter finally arrived in Texas this last weekend, and the trailer’s heater isn’t working very well. I was COLD.

If winter decides to stick around, I’m going to need a space heater or something.

Do y’all know that oft-parodied romantic refrain “Ah sweet mystery of life, at last I’ve found you!”? It’s used in “Thoroughly Modern Milly” (if you haven’t seen that, you need to watch it!), and I’ve always wondered where this song came from. Now I know. :D It’s from the 1935 movie-musical Naughty Marietta, the first movie Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy (GORgeous voice) made together. It’s a beautiful and effective song in it’s setting, despite the melodrama, and I love it now. XD

Junebug has been introducing me to Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy movies, and I adore them. So fun. The romance, the thin soprano and gorgeous baritone, the CAMP. They’re great. New Moon is still my favorite for silly plot and campy melodrama. But always SO romantic. ;)

I HAVE A CAR!!!! I have a car, I have a car, i have a car, ihave a car ihaveacar. XDDDDD

SO exciting, and fabulous, and more than a little nerve-wracking.

My friend Junebug was so lovely and she looked up cars for me on the net, and drove me all over looking at them. By happy coincidence, or blessing, she had been looking for a new car as well this week (as her’s was old and dying), and she bought a cute one on Thursday. So she knew all the ropes and helped me out.

I ended up coming back to the first car I test drove, because none of the rest in my price range even came close to being as good in comparison. Isn’t that just the way. :)

It’s a ‘98 Oldsmobile Intrigue, (like so), dark green. I don’t really like green, but out of all the green cars that seem to be everywhere, this was the green I minded the least. :) The car is nice, accelerates very quickly, drives smoothly, has a cd player, and lots of miles. Which my parents didn’t like.
But I’ve always thought: What’s a car if it’s not to be driven? And I liked this one the best.

*bounces around some more* I have a car!!!!

Crazy.

YEay!! I got the job.
It starts Monday, and will last ’til at least November, full-time.
I’ll be working at a Houston chemical refinery (they do rocket fuel and gasoline), getting paperwork from new contractors and making them their id badges to get into the plant. I love this type of job.

The only kicker is that I have to be there at 5:30am. 0.0 I’m the biggest night-owl, this is going to be killer, but I’m going to do it.

It’s a 30 minute commute, so I need to buy myself a cute little cheap car by Monday. Since it will be full time, I can afford to. YEAYS!

Several OTP banners I wanted hadn’t been made, (Vash/Meryl? Come on, people. >[) and I didn’t feel like my brain could handle anything more creative today, so I made a whole bunch:

12 over here, including the first Phantom and PGSM ones
(I don’t ship all those, I was just being helpful. :)

I’m hopefully getting a full-time job in the next week. (Hope, hope.) It will require me to buy a car, so this is just exciting all around. ^_^
