Fanart100: If.
Okay, sketch DUMP. I’ve been trying to clean out my art folder from all the stuff that has been stagnating in there, some for over a year.
Lots of inked stuff, including Shaman King and Pretear anime fanart. » Continue Reading
Fun things I’ve done in the last 2 weeks:
I was asked by the 2nd Ward to teach some social dance to the youth on a Wednesday activity night. It went pretty well: I went over dance position, leading and following, turning the lady, and the basic steps of waltz, Night Club 2-step (because you can do it to so many slow pop songs) and a bit of cha cha tacked on at the end. It was a little hard to control the class, but fun, and if I got any of the young men to do more then just the “deacon shuffle” at the next Stake Youth Dance, then my job has been done.
If they wanted to learn anything more advanced I’d be in trouble, though. I have the hardest time remembering, doing, or teaching the guy’s part in couple dances. I get all turned around. ^_^;;;;
Junebug and I sang in Sacrament Meeting at the Single’s Ward on Sunday. My dad coincidently was also the High Councilman speaker. It is always a bit funny to me when stuff like that happens, because I always feel awkward when we have a “J-Fam Sunday” and it feels like we’ve taken over the meetings. ^_^;
We sang “Adam-ondi-Ahman,” which is a very LDS folk-hymn by WWPhelps. We did it a cappella, switching around the soprano/alto parts on verse 2, and on the last verse I sang a harmony above the melody, which was interesting. We sang well, and evidentially it sounded pretty good too. :) A few of the accomplished classical musicians in the ward complimented us, which always feels good, because they appreciate the technical aspects. ^^
I’ve also been reading novels and working a bit, which is good and happy.
This is way way late, but EVERYone else on livej, etc, has been drawing Batgirl, so I gotta do it too! XD

And purpley goth superheroines are rather right up my alley…. ;D
ink and ps.
I actually have clicked throught the majority of the batgirl pics. It’s a great way to find cool new artists I wasn’t aware of. :)
Wahh, what a day. It has been uniformly dark gray all day, and the Exxon chemical plant has been pumping icky chemicals into the air all day, making the entire city reek. Bllllleaaaghgggghhhhh……
It just finally started raining, so it should feel better soon.
So, here’s the story of My Palm Pilot Woes, or How Becky Went Through Three Palm Pilots in Three Weeks:
I got my first for Christmas, and by Jan 3, the sound had completely stopped working on it. As its mp3 playing capability was one of the main reasons I wanted it, I took it back to Office Depot that Thursday, and they gave me another one, no problem. On Saturday, while playing music on it, #2 stopped dead and would not respond, no matter what I did to it. Recharging, resetting, trying to hotsync…it was dead. More then a little peeved now, I took this one back and got my (parents) money back. I looked all online for something better.
I wanted WiFi capability, if at all possible, and the most affordable one was the Palm T|X, by the same company as my double-dead Tunsten, which was warying. But it had everything I wanted, so I bought that one on Friday, the 13th. XP
After my mother’s urging, in case this one died and needed to be returned too, I paid full retail at Best Buy here in town instead of buying it cheaper online, and spent more than I wanted.
This 3rd palmpilot has been working all very well until this morning, when it was dead and unresponsive when I woke up!!11 UGH!!
I had charged it all night, at least I thought, and more charging wasn’t doing anything that I could see. I finally stuck in the USB hotsyc cord and left it for a while. When I came back it was lit up and working again. o.0!
It looks like it hadn’t been charging correctly. I had the adapter plugged into the extension cord by my bed, because the wall socket is behind my bed, and all my other electronic gadgets work fine through the extension cord. My mother thinks the extension cord isn’t good for my palm and that is likely why I’ve been having these problems. I surely hope that was the problem, because I’m about to go hair-pulling crazy over here.
Because I really like my palm pilot. I really like being able to write on my stories anywhere, read fanfic and ebooks from my bed, check my email from the couch, carry a light and quick version of the scriptures around with me where ever I go, and play my mp3’s at the same time. I LIKE this thing! It better KEEP WORKING!!!!!
Here’s some artness as I calm down (click):
Comic updated with 2 new pages. Sorry for the excessive wait.
I can’t draw cars, and lots of dialogue drives me batty.
Been having lots of palmpilot DRAMA. Will blog about it after I see if this new one works. It’s charging right now; it had better.
More Fanart100! Dragon-Haku and toddlers, oh my. (But not pictured together. Yet. )
(To go with 4. Insides…)
Sakura viewing time, Hanami. :)
I need a good petal brush, if someone wants to point one out/make one for me. ;) Every self-respecting anime fanartist should have a ps sakura petal brush to add quick and easy Japanese-ness to any picture. That, and floating feathers. LOL.
An artistic, experimental watercolor type thing. (Which means it didn’t turn out as I would have liked. *glares at it*)

I worked temp some this week and last week! Always good. Now if I can just get myself to exercise on days I work, it’ll be better…
My 3 BYU sibs have flown back to Utah. Wahh! I miss them! It was so fun having them home. :’( *hugs to my lovely little sister and my tall little brothers*
But, oh, I’ve lately discovered NEW GORGEOUS MUSIC, and I must spread the joy!
Vienna Teng–
Go and download pretty much everything she has available to dl on her site. If you don’t want all of it, at least get “Lullabye For A Stormy Night,” because it is ohsoGORgeous. *.*!!
Her voice is lovely, and her piano and instrumental accompaniments are beautiful. She’s ‘folk-pop’ or something, and I really need to get the rest of her songs. I’m going to have to raid someone’s iTunes account. :]
Barlowgirl–
My sister got some of their music from her BYU-I friend, and all-flash websites drive me batty, so I don’t know that much about them, but Barlowgirl is GOOD in every way.
They’re a Christian girl-rock band of 3 sisters who advocate closeness to God, modesty and no dating (???….I’ll interpret that as no steady boyfriends for teen girls, which is highly good advice). They sound like every LDS Young Women leader’s dream, but their music is also FABUlous, so I recommend everyone getting their hands on some Barlowgirl. It looks like iTunes is again the best place to look for them.
Vertical Horizon–
Okay, this is just me celebrating. I had their song “Best I Ever Had” on my playlist back in 2001, but those files were lost over the years, and my sister just gave me this song again. I had forgotten how wonderfully soothing I find this song. ^___^ I’m not sure what instrument it is from (violin? synthesizer?), but the high-pitched, sliding notes they have repeat in the background of this song make me just relax. I love it.
In case you’re missing this song from your playlist-
Vertical Horizon–Best I Ever Had (ysi)
Edit–btw, if you download, comment! *poke* It’s polite. :}
I exercised today! Resolution #1 began! (I couldn’t start yesterday, we spring winter cleaned the garage. Yeek, that’s a scary job.)
More Haku/Sen Fanart100 stuff:
Lovers, another watercolor experiment. yek.
In case any of you were wondering if I was going to continue to completely neglect Haku’s dragon form–
Taste, teh cute. There are several serious dragon pieces in the works, they just aren’t finished yet. :)
