I saw BYU’s production of Shakespeare’s A Winter’s Tale last night. Fabulous production, some great acting. Shakespeare’s tale itself is really odd.
The first act is a heart wrenching tragedy, with violently insane jealous madness from the king. The second act is a light comedy. The ending, a Fantastic Miracle.
But it is about love and has some wonderfully strong female characters.
It’s a Romantic piece done long before the term was coined for the “Romantics” of the 19th Century.
Interesting thought from Gospel Doctrine class today:
Ephesians 6:13&16
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
….
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Someone commented: “Faith is your shield — it does you no good if it’s in the wrong place.”
x-posted to the Mormon LJ.
Ah, snow and ice.
Real winter weather happening here. Very pretty.
I have finally declared Music as my minor. I just didn’t think about it before. (Because with Visual Art, if you get in, you are automatically declared.) I only have 5 credits left to do.
I’m really feeling good about the new Editing Minor. Every time I read something, or think about grammar and sentence structure, I realize that I really want to know about it, and understand it. I’ll sign up for the minor, and if it turns out I really don’t like the classes, I’ll just undeclare. But I will definitely have learned something. :)
I went to the Best of Final Cut, BYU’s student film festival, last night with Ben (he’s a cool guy). There were some good ones, some thought provoking ones, some funny ones, and some awfully stupid ones that drove me nuts. :) » Continue Reading
Tomorrow’s Friday! Whee! Thanksgiving break is next week! It feels like class is over already (which really, with my schedule, it is).
Will put this on sidebar, when I get around to it:

I want a good Ravenclaw clique/ring. I can’t find one. :(
Poetry:
I haven’t been interested in poetry very much before, but I’m willing to try it out.
I desire to read some good modern epic poetry. I’m not in the mood for old ancient stuff. I don’t want to think that much. But I’d still like to read some. :)
Any suggestions?
Random Poetry writing quiz, which brought this on:

find your poetry style
this quiz was made by mamaslyth
If I wrote poetry, that’d probably be what I’d do.
There is an LDS Blog webring! (thanks dp!) So I signed myself up, and have already been added. (thanks Ryan!) ^_^
Hee! Now I’m on a webring/clique adding spree! I’ve been desiring to sign up for a lot of these for a while. I hope they will all add me.
Webring-
Lorelei – german sirens. o.o Had to sign up
Cliques-
Stargazer – for artistic dreamers
faerietail – for fairy tale lovers
Dreamweaver – for dreamers
Brown Eyed Girl – because I’m a brown eyed girl

I just bought this book:
The Lady & the Lion, illustrated by Laurel Long

Impulse buy, paid $13. It is POSITIVELY GORGEOUS! ^____^ That Amazon scan does not do it justice.
Her backgrounds are Persian Minitures done in oil, with Russian influences, and her faces are Burn-Jones influenced. Lush detail, very very beautiful. I love it. ^__^
The story is based on The Singing Springing Lark, which I read a few weeks ago here. I have a definite affinity to Beauty and the Beast/Animal Bridegroom stories. I’ve read at least 20 versions and they are all very interrelated. Cool stuff.
David of A Soft Answer has linked to me on his list of Mormon Blogs. ^_^ (How do you do this trackback thing? I don’t know.)
We really should do a LDS Blog webring. I’d do it if I could find the time. (so many projects)
Gaman by S. Nees: an interesting and touching article about Japanese culture by a Japanese woman raised in America.
www.alllooksame.com – take a quiz to see if you can tell Japanese people from Chinese or from Korean, etc. I failed miserabley. :( I’d love to be able to. Are there any regional differences people could point out?
It took me a while, but I was eventually able to tell “American” Native American from Mexican while I served on an Indian Reservation in AZ, and I occasionally see someone and think “They look Russian”. It would be wonderful as an artist to be able to draw the predominate facial characteristics of various ancestries. I love faces. ^_^

Aimee thinking of closing down the Forum?? NO!!! :(
That Forum was like, my internet home for years! And I haven’t come back to it yet, as I should have. Alright, I’m back now.
