My sister is home! Yay! We’ve been having Heroes marathons. I’m finally watching it. And it’s awesome. (if rather gorey, yeeig!) Hiro Love!

Went to Animematsuri last weekend. Couldn’t get off work so I didn’t bother with a table, and this is the first con I DIDN’T cosplay for. Shock!

The con had problems: too long lines, half the panels not happening, blah blah blah, but 4 of my prints in the art show sold. XD Friday wasn’t even worth going to. So many people, and nothing to do but look at each other and shop. I paid $40 for this?
I think I’m going to start getting a table for Saturday only and doing it that way on these cons. Because I love face painting. :)

I’m totally going to make an Avatar:Princess Ursa/Zuko’s Mom cosplay for whatever con I go to next. And for long term planning: I want to do Sesshoumaru’s mother from the Inuyasha manga. But that will be an EXPENSIVE costume, so I’m going to take it slow. And maybe commission the wig, or something.

Am I going to end up being “That Guy’s Mom” for every cosplay I do from now on? yeeig. Cute ingenue and slinky sex-vixen just don’t work with my body, so elegant matron it will have to be. heh.

Art!:

Blonde Fairy

(I would have called it “Green Fairy”, but that has connotations that would disappoint any googlers.) ;]

It’s been raining straight for the last few days, so I got rained out of work today. At 5:30am, I almost got there, but every entrance and underpass to get the final mile was under water, so I holed up in a Donut Hole, and by 9:30am, water had gone down enough in one underpass for me to get home. I had a novel, a cellphone, plenty of kolaches, and avoided flooding out my car, so it was all good. :)

A-kon was up and down, with too much down-time, but it was nice. I had gone all over Houston to find a supply of glow-in-the-dark body/face paint, which was a GREAT idea my brother had to cater to the late night ravers, but the paint turned out to not be very good, and only liked to glow well in full dark, so that was a disappointment. And I don’t recommend signing up for your hotel room late, as the room ended up costing an arm and a leg. greh. Live and learn.

I’m looking for roommates for next year to spread some of the fees around. :]

I’m going to be at A-kon in Dallas tomorrow!!

I’ll be selling prints, facepainting, and even doing glow-in-the-dark body paint (for all y’all ravers out there) in the evenings. So if you’re there, come find the gal painting faces on the main floor, and say hi! ^_^

I went to Shiokazecon here in Houston this last weekend. Somehow or another, my driver’s license fell out of my purse sometime this weekend, I assume while I was at the con. I didn’t notice it was missing until yesterday. Today it arrived anonymously in the mail, along with a blank card with a cute doggy on it.

Whoever sent my driver’s license back to me, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.
Loves and hugs and blessings to you forever. Thank you so much.

I got a table for A-Kon!!! WHOOHOO! Yayayay.
If you are going, come by and get your face painted with something fun. Some of my favorites that I do are red anger tic-marks and blue sweatdrops. Visually communicate your emotion all day. :D

Still don’t have a table for Shiokazecon, which is next week, because the guy still hasn’t gotten back to me!!!! gah! I may end up just cosplaying, better work on Unohana…

I turned in my taxes on Saturday and went to jury duty (again! GOSH!) on Monday, so aren’t I just a good little citizen. :} Thankfully, I wasn’t picked this time. It still took 8 hours of tight quarters, hard benches, and me figeting because I didn’t feel it would be appropriate for me to draw while the judge was explaining the law to us. I left exhausted.

Oni-con was fun! I was able to get a table right outside of the dealers room, so if anybody wanted their face painted, they definitely knew I was there. :) Friday very few did, but Saturday quite a few did and I was kept nicely busy. Sesshoumaru’s markings are definitely my most popular design. :) I also got to do 2 full Ichigo’s hollow mask faces, a few Gaara faces, a few Fruits Basket animals, 2 river of tears (always fun), and a few permanent anime blushes. Showers of butterflies is my most popular original design. I sold absolutely no prints. hmh.

I was able to share my table with Marla, which was fun, and she was able to sell a few copies of her wacky Naruto doujinshi.

I wasn’t able to get anything workable done for Orihime’s hair clips (and you HAVE to have the hairclips), so instead, at the last minute I changed to cosplaying a light-haired Hinamori (girl on right). I whipped up a bun cover, and pinned some fabric on my arm and taped on a paper badge. It worked pretty well. :] I bought a black wooden sword (bokuto!) from the dealers room that my little brother keeps stealing from me, and I love my black hakama. XD

There were lots of Bleach cosplayers at the con, XD but because I was behind a table and am generally dignified (ehhehheh), I refrained from glomping/attacking/sobbing on any Aizens I saw. Despite being sorely tempted. I called a Hitsugaya ‘Shiro-chan’, but he didn’t seem to get it. tsk tsk.

I got a few pics of my costume that I’ll post later if any of them are decent. :]

Despite all the stress and the money, the late-night prepwork, and the hours of boredom when no one wants a pretty facepaint, I really love doing cons. XD The people watching, all the fabulous to awful to wonderful costumes, the fangirl squeals and teenagers, and the painting, it’s all just fun. ^__^

I got a table for Oni-con!! YAY!
They had some cancelations, so if everything goes as planned I should be doing face painting tomorrow and Saturday at Oni-con here in Houston. :)

I have almost finished my black hakama. Mwah. :] I’m going to be cosplaying ShinigamiDressed!Orihime from Bleach on Saturday, and wearing my generic!feudal outfit on Friday.

I just found out I could get a table this afternoon, so *runs around like crazy*
